EmVision Productions Receives National and Regional Honors for Innovation, Culture, and Social Impact
Lynn, Massachusetts – EmVision Productions, a social impact media agency based in Lynn, Massachusetts, is proud to announce its recent recognition as the 2025 Massachusetts Microenterprise of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and Small Business of the Year in Cultural Excellence by the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. These awards honor EmVision’s commitment to driving social change through media, uplifting underrepresented voices, and modeling a values-driven approach to business.
A Visionary Ecosystem for Change
Founded in 2013 by Dr. Tariana V. Little and Jonas Meyer, EmVision has emerged as a creative leader, partnering with grassroots organizations and global enterprises to tell stories that matter. The company’s mission is rooted in what they call a "visionary ecosystem for change"—one where storytelling becomes a catalyst for equity, justice, and community transformation.
“For us, ‘business growth’ means impact,” said Dr. Little. “We are honored by these recognitions, which reflect our work and the support of countless community champions and entrepreneurial resources that have shaped our journey. Success is a team sport.”
Through its Social Impact Storytelling™ framework—honed during Dr. Little’s doctoral research at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health—EmVision has produced dynamic campaigns for organizations including the Boston Public Health Commission, MassDevelopment, and the Boston Impact Initiative, amplifying issues from patient-centered HIV care to equitable economic development in Gateway Cities.
Investing in Creative Futures
In 2023, EmVision launched EmVision Studios, their production headquarters and a creative coworking and community event space in Lynn. Renovated from a former antique restoration shop with support from an SBA 403 loan (via Eastern Bank and Bay Colony Development Corporation) and over $60,000 through MassDevelopment’s Biz-M-Power crowdfunding grant, the 3,400-square-foot space now serves as a hub for local creatives, entrepreneurs, and community organizations.
“Thriving creative economies create stronger, more vibrant communities,” said Meyer. “We have a responsibility to invest in our collective futures.”
Modeling Excellence Inside and Out
Recognized by the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce for cultural excellence, EmVision’s progressive business model includes a hybrid 4-day work week, profit-sharing, and impact-based performance—showing that social justice and business innovation can go hand-in-hand.
Mayor Jared C. Nicholson of Lynn praised the company’s contributions: “We proudly congratulate EmVision Productions on their growth and these significant awards. This well-deserved recognition celebrates the positive social change they champion—from their work here in Lynn to communities across the country.”
Giving Forward
EmVision’s impact extends beyond business. Since 2020, the team has donated over $225,000 in pro bono services through EmVisionary Grants, supporting BIPOC-led grassroots nonprofits. They have also committed $50,000 to endow the EmVision Social Impact Scholarship Fund at UMass Boston, empowering the next generation of change-makers.
“In today’s climate, where social justice is often under attack, we hope to inspire others to be EmVisionaries—leaders who use their platforms for good,” said Dr. Little.
